One product, since 2003

No outside investment, and nothing else to sell.
We work from Madeira in Portugal, and from Tirana in Albania.

In 2002, Vlad Roman was a freelance web developer. He built websites for his clients, and every one of them was managed by a content management system he wrote himself. One screen inside that system was a file manager, and it did not behave like anything else on the web at the time.

XMLHttpRequest was not a standard yet, and the word AJAX did not exist. He used JavaScript and hidden iframes to reach the server without loading a new page. The result was a file manager with no checkboxes, no submit buttons, and no page refresh. You clicked a file, and the screen answered.

Clients noticed that one screen more than the website around it. So he separated it from the content management system and sold it on its own, as a script. That script became FileRun.

It is still the only product. There has been no outside investment, and no second product. That is why the person who answers your email is the person who wrote the code. There is no support department between you and the developers, and nobody outside this company decides what FileRun does next, or for how long it stays supported.

The company is registered in Madeira, Portugal, where it moved in 2021. In 2026 we opened a second office in Tirana, Albania. Both offices do the same work, on the same one product.
